    I don't know about pictures or books or official documents. But I live on the Bulge battlefield and I know for sure that quite a few battlefield leftovers with type 3 barrel bands have been recovered form barns and attics. etc. I have one myself that the farmer pulled out of a wooden box on his attic.

    Wow that's odd indeed. I have talked to a lot of vets who were there and not one of them had a bayonet or a carbine that could take one. Looked at many photos of that time frame and yet to see one with a type 3 band. Any information you can pass on to us would be great.
