Prismatic compasses regularly appear on that auction site. But here's a tip. They don't always appear under the name prismatic compass so look under all of the variables and that way you might find one that is unrecognised and cheap.

Mk1 telescopes were never waterproofed in any official capacity simply because yopu'd never keep the moisture/water/rain out of the Mk1 type eye lens arrangement Some Mk2's with cell type ocular lens assemblies SEEM to have been done but where the authority came from has eluded me. The conversion to W spec consisted of....... In short, the Mk2 drums were modified and waterproofed in the same way as the later Mk3 drums.

No8 case strap....... Just look up MOORE LEATHER on this site. I think he goes under the name of SADDLER. They are very good. Ask him to make you a decent set of eye caps while he's about it!

Better work than many we've seen. I'm a little confused as to why the screws seem to be in a descending line on the inside face but look quite parallel on the outside face of the body.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
