/26\ Chinese characters for type 56 D241396741 on the rear of the receiver I can make out 7.6 x 39 made in china and I can't make out the rest. The D makes it the import variant.

The rest reads " by Norinco poly USAicon ALT GA"
Yes, made for the export market not military use I should have been more clear.
When I bought mine I thought it was a exmilitary surplus carbine. That is what I was trying to convey.
To everybody that has one of these, what kind of metal do you think the bayonet is made out of.? I almost think its aluminum..!!!

Went to the range and went though 140 rounds with no slam fires nor and problems at all. I have figured out that I need a longer stock to fit me better. I did all my shooting on the 100 yard range shooting targets and gongs.

Good group, what ammo? The front sight can be moved with a tool available @ all the usual sources or with a punch and hammer.

So last night I was visiting a friend of mine and we had all our rifles out and cleaning them. Then he gets the idea to challenge me to field strip the rifles. I agree to the contest as he is betting me money. First up was the C93, I have never field striped one of those so he showed me what needed to be done. I then striped the rifle and reassembled it in 7:50 min. Next up was the DPMS AR-15, again I have never striped one so again he showed me how it was done. He timed me dissembling and reassembling that rifle in 5:20 min. The time to beet on the C93 was 10 min and the time to beet on the AR was 7 min. He said double or nothing on the AR. Last was my SKS again double or nothing with a time limit of 5 min.... I did in in 2:20min. He then double or nothing again if I could do it under 2 min, 1:50 was the time I got. Last he decided to have me try it blind folded and do it under 10 min. I got it done in 7:40 min. So today I went and picked up 200 rounds and a VISM First Responders Utility Bag all on his dime
