I recently bought a Springfield 1903 sporter in very good condition. It has some traits of an NRA sporter such as star gauged barrel, 6-24 date with bomb, Lyman 48 sight, no signs of where rear sight was mounted. Though the stock is checkered very nicely has a Schnabel and does not have a barrel band though front sling swivel does screw into a band that floats around the barrel through the stock. Serial number is 1264948
Any help on the history of this rifle would be greatly appreciated.Information
