We need to consider that the DA markings were put onto the rifles and bayonets by the Chileans when they were received with HMS Canadain 1920. Whether this was the complete stock with which she had been issued in 1916, I doubt that we shall ever know. If so, surviving DA numbers suggest that the original issue was somewhat in excess of 400.
Hi,
I have DA341 and DA362.
D.A.341; M-1910, Bj: 19??, S/N 653D, has matching bayonet, in Germany![]()
D.A.362; M-10, Bj: 1916, S/N 928DD, no bayonet, in Germany
What is the front sight on the top rifle, first picture? Also, the bayonet lug/fore end cap is different on each rifle. Is one machined and one the stamped variety? Regards. Tom

I have Rifle DA238, s/n 38GM, a 1915 production, also stamped M230 by the bolt channel. Along with it is bayonet DA17.
Another DA M1910 Ross with matching bayonet surfaced in Germany. It is DA 307:
I hope the S/N list in the start post will get updated, also with the two rifles of 750 WLA!
You DA owners might want to post photos of the markings on the buttstocks. Some of these rifles were issued to some pretty famous Canadianregiments and fought in some quite famous engagments.
For those that are interested in that kind of history.![]()

Isn't that nice? Odd looking scabbard though.
Regards, Jim
I have a couple of DA marked Rosses with a scabbard that looks like that. I wonder if they were modified in that fashion for the ChileanNavy?

Also, I am going to be updating the original table with all the rifles I have been sent information on and the additions. Hope to get that done in the next short while. Quite of few of these old girls out there.
