    Place the question for Peter Laidlericon as a new thread (no PM's) but he may struggle to give you a price as it could be a pandoras box and turn out nasty for you and once committed ya got to go the whole hog as from my gathering Peter will not stop until the item is correct in every way as he worked on them for eons in the military.
    With things like this you have to bight the bullet as no half ar*ed attempt will cut the mustard it is a passion, I am on the verge of finding out two things with my 4 T after re bedding
    1) the barrel is stuffed or;
    2) The Mk III 32 scope is out then it will be growing wings to Englandicon and Peters workshop.

    So why CINDERS;

    I got my nik from Ned trying to sneak a newly acquired weapon undetected passed the Minister for Finance and War got busted and suffered dearly for it so Ned called me Cinders, if the scope has to go to England I may be known as Ashes which has nothing to do with the cricket game we beat the pom's at ooops sorry slips, agh there I go again!

    Easy enough to determine the barrel's plight: shoot it without the scope! If you can't use irons, then...

    Don't forget there's one other very likely culprit: the mounting pads themselves. Have had that drama myself more than once.

    Your No32 scope has absolutely nothing to do with the accuracy of your rifle Cinders. The rifle is accurate - or it ain't! All the telescope does is to bring the target, or the IMAGE of the target a bit nearer (you have to understand that everything you actually see through the scope is merely an image.....)
    Test it for accuracy using the EMER criteria for No4T's, zero the rifle and only THEN, zero the telescope in

    If anyone is really interested in how to set about bringing the telescope into zero, then I'll go through it again........

    That's what I intend to do this Saturday at 25yds with iron sights on the target that I copied from milsurps so I can see after the re-bedding by my stock maker I may have to;
    A) Move the front blade to centre the strike.
    B) Replace the blade with a different height blade to bring the strike on the range cross selected IE 400 on sight 400 on target.
    C) See if the rifle groups.

    This with iron sights I have read the books and asked and received welcome advice but it is a process of elimination as when I tried the thing out at 100M with my reloads with the scope on and I pretty much know what to do that way I was battling and stress battling to hold the group in a 10-12"circle, as a note my best 10 shot group with my 6.5/284 @500M was 85mm so I can shoot a tad.
    I am as exasperated as I can be and am trying to work through this through a process of elimination, I have done the set up as per Peters book and everything worked out as per book bang on the 700yd range mark on the drum.
    Thanks guys for helping it will work in the end just gotta go through the loops, as a foot note should I attempt to screw the pad screws up as I know they are soldered in (not silver eh Peter) as I do not want to wreck them, as it would require re heating and resetting them my gunny can do that how do we ascertain the pads for looseness try the screws! do they have a poundage setting on them....... gads should have brought a R8 Bugatti
