"Citadel" and "Khartoum" marked MEs were assembled in those places with English made Parts, after assembly/repair of MEs finished in Britain...about 1905-1910.
The Egyptians scrubbed most of the Receivers, and other Parts, of their BritishInspection etc. Marks. Some of the Lesser Parts were also made at "Citadel".
That's why the Locally assembled MEs look a bit "Khyber-Pass-ish", but they were made with the same Care as the British-built MEs, although their subsequent use and abuse, makes them look very "ordinary"

Can a rear sight from a M 310 Martini be fitted to a Martini Enfield ?
tr63: Very hard to say. Usually whenever any decent Martini Enfield (or Metford) comes up for sale up here the asking price is pushing $1000.00 (Canadian, of course). I've never seen another Citadel marked one for sale and I got this one for a nice $300.00 (pretty sure the previous owner thought it was a Khyber Pass special!).

Thanks for the reply . I have one on a lay-away And it comes with a socket bayonet that is correct for the rifle , The bore is very good with a excellent muzzle . The stock is sanded and with out any damage . The blue is very good . The price is $650.00 .I have been looking for a Martini Henry in .303 cal. for a number of years and this one is in the best condition of all I have seen . Any one up your way have a scabbard they want to sell to fit my bayonet ? The right side of the action is bare of any markings . the left side marked like yours with the date of 1909.
Ha ha....yeah, probably. I sold that rifle some time ago, wish that I hadn't! Have a line on another one, guy swears it's not a Khyber special. Going to get a look at it Friday. If it pans out, more pics!
Bump good to read.
