New manufacture wood sets for No1 Mk111

Recently got very lucky and was able to buy a couple handfuls of SMLE's. Some solid, some not. A couple sporters. Going through each, one. Numrich, Sarco, Liberty Tree and a few others for parts as I need them. They are all "Enfield's". Parts are parts. Working rifles are cool. Taking some old dry stock sets and giving them some love and putting them back where they belong can't be a bad thing, right?

Numrich has new wood for the No1 MkIII and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on these.

I bought a reproduction No.1 forend from Numrich, and am currently working on making it fit- these are NOT "drop-in" by any means. You can see the draws where I've had to remove about a millimeter to get things to start fitting. I just did that work yesterday, you can see it needs abit more work to tidy it up. Also, it's pivoting on that area aft of the knox form, where you see those "sharpie" marks- ie, if I get the draws area mostly snugged up, the gap between the muzzle and the front end of the forend gets quite big. Today I'll be slowly removing some of the wood in that area, should allow the whole thing to sit better in the wood without such a noticeable rocking back and forth.
I also made a hole for the cutoff screw to live in.

In the end, I got tired of trying to find old, used forends, and the price on these is pretty good, even if it does mean some hand fitting. Worth it to me, anyway.
