According to reliable published sources BSA only converted 79 of these for the Irish Free State. In the 1960's the Irish Free State snipers made their way to North America through the surplus arms trade (Interarms?). The Irish Free State Rifles have the traditional BSA crossed rifle logo on the tube and the little FF cartouche on the scope bracket.

I notice that the rifle serial number isn't engraved on the side of the right rear sight protector. It should be there but since the finish looks almost Parkerized, it may have been swept away by the bead/sand blaster? Usually there's some remnant visible. Mine has been through Weedon and although the serial number is filled in with the WRS blue finish and the engraving no longer bright, it's still quite legible.

Doug already pointed that out I see. I'd guess instead of being one of the 2001, it was assembled in 2001! I'd also guess the scope bases aren't original but new reproductions.
