How about slide stop scar
The last guy who owned it scratch? Take $100 off the price and I will buy it scratch? Battle damage or patina scratch if I am looking to purchace it.
I suppose I could call it the I wish my freakin license would come so I could get one scratch
Besides "takedown" scratch, it has often been called the "GI" scratch, as most government issued pistols have it.

Every time I see a take down or GI scratch called an idiot scratch, I am pretty sure who the idiot is!
How about: its been field stripped scratch?
I love my old 1911, 1948, with 5 digit serial #, chambered in 38 Super. Great shooter, but I made my Race Gun from a different format.
Chuck
Since the soldier using it is really the final inspector before it's used for its intended purpose is it safe to call it "the final inspection stamp"( though not a stamp at all) ?
Reread my post and came up with "final inspection mark" or " GI inspection mark"( a take off from Scott's GI scratch)
