Ray, Thanks for posting the photos, that is a nice rifle. The no-bolt stock and very early barrel are rare. Interesting that a few of us, have found four digit Rock island and
Springfield rifles or receivers, but where are the three digits ? Robert

Good question Robert, a 3, 2, and single digit one. I believe there was a #1 serial numbered Springfield on the forum at one time, Ray
