It's looking better and better. I'm becoming open to the possibility that it really is mint.

When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
I have nothing to add as I'm a total novice on M1A1s. I do happen to own an original 5.4 Inland. My thoughts would be: Why is the guy not showing us the left side of the receiver and the barrel at junction to receiver, the two places to check for original finish? All of the pictures are in focus and sharp except the important one showing the flip sight from above, it is all blurry?
This is a lot of money for anyone but might be a price to a top end collector who pays well for goods he wants. It could be a Sam-T-Bob and a $2000 mistake as well. I figure a carbine that is supposed to be an absolute gem would have 30 photos showing everything. Sure looks nice.
Sometimes sellers simply have no idea how to do this.
