Canadian Rifle Issue

Probably a nob question, but hey we're her to learn. Would Canadian soldiers been issued mainly Long Branches or would they have just been issued at random from British stock piles that Long Branches were just apart of? I ask because my buddy and I both have LB's and both of ours have been in British hands, but I've seen quite a few in the original Canadian configuration.
