What can I do to help my new M1A standard to shoot better than 4to5 inch groups

It was the trigger guard, I used copper shims to tighten the trigger guard for know, I went to the pit shot 4, 5 shot groups and it is shooting 2 to3 inch groups with m80 ball. I think it needs to be bedded, does anybody know a good gunsmith that works on the m1a Springfield I know there will be a lot more than bedding to get to 1moa. THANKS YOU

So, it's actually the stock then. It's too small at the clamp point and you could also just replace it...they're available... Trying to get it bedded could be more a problem.

Try Fulton Armory. They do a lot of National Match work on M14 type rifles.

I am going to bed this stock, I will be getting a new one so if I mess it up its ok the stock is not any good any way. I have bed my Remingtons going to watch some videos and see how its done. I will let you guys no. Thanks
