    I have installed bayonets on many rifles with the scabbards on them. It just depends on the rifle and bayonet. Examples where this is possible include the Arisakaicon rifles, Carcano rifles, and I believe some Swissicon rifles. I would have to go and retry a bunch of rifles as it wasn't really something I was paying attention to at the time.

    I do not know the year of manufacture, but I believe nearly all of them were completed in a very short period of time, just a few years. Having installed bayonets on many rifles, over the years with and without the scabbard, there are probably more that can be mounted with than can't. All those with high rings can have the scabbards as well as most spike bayonets. Only those few with bayonets that mount close to the barrel will have an issue. K98icon style bayonets being one example.
