$500? Stole it. You can't build an SP1/M16A1 replica now for under $600 and you have to get a good deal on a kit to do it (which are hard to find) and even then with those you're going to get something kind of ugly (though mostly functional) like mine. Those SP1s are regularly over $1000 anymore. When you get one in your hands with a pencil barrel you realize how light the gun was and how handy it was to have around, not like today's guns with HBARs and 4 pound rails hanging off the front.

    also had green too

Early green plastic on Colt SP1, not original to SP1 but still looks good. This is the original green color over the brown fibreAttachment 78504Attachment 78505

Nice SP1's and like them my son's is a laser with 55gr.
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

My A1 shoots lights out with 55gr winchester fmj over top of 25gr of winchester 748. The very first 3 shots at 25 yards to zero were a perfect cloverleaf!
The barrel is a DelTon 1-12" twist 20" government profile with chrome bore/chamber. The bcg is an Anderson chromelined carrier and gas key.
Nothing special. There were some great guns around the 60s for sure. Gene Stoner was brilliant! The only thing better was the FN FAL. Although my Springfield Armory SAR48 Match is a great shooter, i am way more fond of my A1.

Bought one a couple months ago from a guy who was given the rifle by a friend. It's a 1977, unfired. He listed it for $1,000.00 and took $900 for it. Decided just to keep it as a safe queen. Already been offered $1700.
