    It does not have any of those parts. From what I have found out, it seemed they switched the majority of those parts out by the 7000 range of serial numbers. Mine being in the Mid 8000's seems to have just missed out. Everything is Marked LB except for the bolt head which is a marked with a 3 and a S for Savage. Any Info on the TT? probably just initials.

    Whoa, hold on; I read your description of "No.4 MkI", looked at the photos and then failed to notice the absent bolthead retaining catch. You have a MkI* of course and the value is not what I said when thinking you had a Mk.I. Sorry!

    Still an interesting early survivor though. Is the cocking piece marked with the Savage Arms "square S"?

    The original post was about a '41 LB No4 MK1. The photos I posted were of my '42 LB No4 MK1*. My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.
