The 10.4 ctg has a slight bottleneck like a 44-40. The bullet is a heel type.Information

Here the measurements I took from the ammo I bought.
Bullet. .416
Neck. .445
Base. .453
Rim. .508
Overall casing is approx .895.
I'm thinking the dimensions are off just enough to prevent the cartridges from loading correctly.
It's out by enough... I still wonder if there's a mechanical thing because of the mismatched cylinder for instance? And who knows what else has happened over the century.
