Was that falling from the sky, in addition to the more direct shooters activities??

    Gil,
Read yesterday about a group of children playing in a front yard with sparklers, when a 11 year old boy was hit in the top of the head by a round apparently shot in the air. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. 3 more rounds had hit the roof of a attached carport on the same property.
    No suspect (s) in custody.

Rifle bullets fired VERTICALLY upwards retain most of the spin imparted at the muzzle, even at apogee and as they fall straight back down, striking the ground base first. The descent terminal velocity is whatever can be achieved by the action of gravity minus air resistance.

Stumpy, relatively slow-moving, pistol bullets do not rise as far and thus will have less opportunity to gain serious velocity on the way down.

ANY bullet fired at a fairly flat angle will hit pretty hard, but will not be coming down from directly above.

Bullets, especially rifle bullets, display "spin-drift" when fired at targets as in a normal firing range. Bullets launched DEAD VERTICALLY will also drift during their flight time, even in still air. P. O. Ackley did quite a bit of work on this, as did Hatcher and several other inquiring minds. Even in totally "still" air, bullets were found to "drift" and fall several feet away from the barrel that fired them. Those that fell on the timber decking of the firing platform left a slight dent in the surface of the deck. A young child with a developing skull may be in some danger from such falling bullets.

It would be interesting to see clear images of projectiles actually recovered from these buildings.

I believe very little about the incident reports (Official Explanations) coming out of Chicago.
11 year old gang members are often used to commit these street level crimes, as they are young enough to walk free or only slapped on the hand.
But old enough to rob or kill you.
Chicago politics are very much today like the days Al Capone ruled the city.
Investigators, Forensics... etc are overwhelmed. Also in the current political climate, they may be seeing big monetary cutbacks from the Feds because of the Sanctuary city situation.

For all I know the reported 11 year old shot in the head had just emptied his mag and caught incoming fire from a drive by shooter (s).
Shots in the carport roof? May have been shot from under it during a new years celebration.

Not trying to be or sound callous, but when it comes to big city crime one may never know the truth.
Much like the 40 some year old Aussie woman in Minnesota who called 911 and reportedly hand slapped the patrol car as she stood next to the drivers side door, only to be shot by the policeman riding in the front passenger seat. He shot across the officer driving, shooting her.
Australian woman shot by Minnesota police reported possible sexual assault, 911 transcript shows | Fox News

Very little information from LIb media.
I was listening last night on the link I posted earlier.
Heard a dispatch for a bus that had hit it's silent alarm.
18 minutes later they were still trying to get a unit to it, it was right at shift change.
Wife read from a friend on facebook today, (friend living in Chicago) that 2 hoods were shooting at each other on that bus, taking cover behind people. Yep......... Sanctuary city and gun control !!

I am forcing myself to self censored my comments to avoid prohibited content.
Perhaps some enterprising individual could market this model in Chicago.
Seems a perfect place to test the market.

I read a comment earlier that said build walls around the bad areas. Drop in extra ammo and let them go at it.
Makes me think of a movie over here that had Kurt Russell in it. He played SNAKE PLISSKEN ,
