    Thanks Peter for the in depth information for the mods. needed to make the MkI cocking handle work in a MkII receiver . I had hoped that it did not need medication to the receiver, like adding metal by welding etc.. I though it was more or less a drop in exchange of parts .

    Well....., you could just drop it in but you'd still have to remove the hump part. The front welded/silver soldered lug isn't that important in the great scheme of things. But on the plus side, if you go the whole hog and convert it to Mk2/1 standard, it'll be rarer and therefore worth more
