Yep the latter would do the trick Jim or call up a flame thrower to rob them of air & cook'em. Did they implement the use of the flame throwing tanks in Korea or due to the topography find them not suitable or were they banned by the Geneva convention come to think of it they used Napalm same thing different delivery system anyway did they use the throwers in Korea. TIA

When I was young my Snr NCOs had gone on the flamethrower course as private soldiers. That would have been in the '60's. They were still around.

M132 aka "Zippo" track in Viet Nam, this one with the 11th ACR. A small cupola in the center of the hull mounted an M10-8 flame gun with a coaxial 7.62 mm caliber M73 machine gun, neither of which possessed a sterling reputation for reliability. A bit of burning rag on the end of a coat hanger backed up the troublesome igniters. Two hundred gallons of napalm was good for about 30 seconds with a range of about 200 meters. Crews were loathe to pressurize the system until just before use.
