I am looking into assembling a Pattern 14 Sniper rifle, modeled after the No.3 MkI Enfield Riflesicon mounting the Aldis scopes, and using the Accumount scope mounts. As the Aldis scopes are basically unobtainium, I am looking at using a ZF 39 Zeilver reproduction scope, as it appears very similar to the M1918 (I think the M1918 was modeled after a Germanicon scope, based on my reading). But just from photo reviews, it appears that the ZF39 scopes are much longer than the M1918 Aldis scopes. Can anyone provide me with scope length and tube diameter? I cannot locate any scope dimensions on the net. I know I will have to work on the windage adjustment, as the Aldis was internally adjustable for windage, and I do not think that the ZF39 scopes are.
