    Early Super Colt,

Very good putting out nice pictures. I wish I had these skills. Ole Harlan put out some nice pictures/displays in his day.

    Jim,
That Super was probably bought to be used (I'd guess) it shows wear from gripping.
But to be nearly a 100 years old... she sure is nice.
Same seller has a **Beautiful** Colt New Service Revolver in .38-40 Mfg 1939 5-1/2"
I better stop here.... Feel like I'm advertising his auctions.
I've got that 'Wishy' feeling today... it's my birthday.

Different years, But Winston Churchill was also born today...
But Unfortunately so was Rock Hudson

    Cheers

The Colt Forum had some interesting comments re: this gun.

About 35 years ago I knew Dr.John McC. Smith in Little Rock, AR. In WWII he had served as a doctor in the military. He had a photo in his office of him in a t-shirt with a Model 1911A1 in shoulder holster. He was in a tent treating somone. There were palm trees in the background, which I assumed meant he was in the pacific theater. I doubt this was a posed picture and is only circumstantial evidence that he was armed in a combat situation but I believe that was where he was.
