most pot belly stocks will have no marking or at best an SA in the barrel channel at the muzzle end. I am sure it is a post war replacement stock as is the recoil plate.

Now you can see the Trigger housing has been modified for M2 use.
30 rd magcatch and M2 slide......
Wonder how the Bore/Muzzle measure ?

So if I'm reading you guys right. My carbine was arsenal rebuilt into m2 configuration then back to an m1 when it was surplussed out to the CMP. That's cool. USGI. Thanks for the info on the slides. Painter777. The Barrell was replaced a couple of years ago by the last owner. I'm going to contact the smith that did the work and find out the maker of it. I'm 99% sure the last owner got it from the CMP. I did not see it before the barrell was replaced, but I'm told that was all that was done to it besides a good cleaning. Thanks guys for all the information. Can't wait to shoot this little gun. Gork

I may be wrong, but the barrel looks like it has a swaged on gas cylinder. If it does, that really narrows down who made it to the small handful of companies that swaged their gas cylinders on. In other words Inland, Buffalo Arms and RMC for sure.

I grew up in Flat Rock, went to High School there to 11th. Then moved down to Monroe for my Senior year.
Plenty of fields to shoot in back in the day. Spent most of our time out at Pointe Mouillee (all quite different back then).
Grew up fishing the Huron, Perch runs, Sheephead, Shad, Gar Pike, Silver Bass, Large and Smallmouth Bass, plus great Channel and Blue Catfish.
Was there when the first Salmon plantings were dropped in at the City park in Flat Rock.
Walleye on Lake Erie, if rough water we'd fish the mouth of The River Raisin out to the Harbor.
Still run the Detroit river down to Gibraltar and dock a boat at friends on Grosse Ile.
Thx to the zebras....... Much clearer water now.

I believe you'll find yourself very happy with the new barrel.
