    Yep,
"The hammer pin was designed to be inserted into the trigger housing from left to right. The width

stock to hold the pin in place when the carbine is assembled."

I don't recall ever seeing the serial number re-stamped on the receiver ring like yours.
I could contact Jim Mock (Web site about the trigger housings I passed to you) and the Carbine Collectors Club to see if they'd be interested in seeing and documented that serial #'s stamped location. They may have seen it before, I have not.
US Ordnance required that when a early flip sight was swapped out with a rear adj sight and it covered the serial # that the serial # be re-stamped forward of the rear sight on the receiver to be visible. This wasn't always done, but when it was it was between the frt of the rear sight and back of the bolt.... 'On the receiver'.

    Does the serial # match?

The Type I UI marked barrel band is a plus = $$, but for shooting I would stick with the Type III bayo band.... makes for a better shooter.
PLus if you remove the bayo band it will leave wear marks on the barrels finish and impressions in the stocks nose. Thus a tell tale that it once had it on there.
I only have 1 NPM and it is one of my favorite shooters.... of the few I shoot. Mine has a Marlin no date barrel with a (we call) NPM punch proof mark near the stamped P proof mark.
Nice looking grain on that stock.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

I'm holding the SG trigger housing I have up for sale for comparison. They certainly look identical. I'd have to call it SG myself.

Thanks for all the replies! Yes, all the serial numbers match; stock & receiver. Pretty nice rifle really. I will do a double-take on whether or not I can find that minuscule leftover SG! Thanks for the tips folks!

Yes, got the chores done, but probably haven't been getting enough sleep. I apologize for my mistake, Wayne. Just last week, (when I was tired, I guess) I mis-read page 1102 in War Baby III and thought it was telling me that page 305, figure 308 in War Baby! was showing the pin inserted from the wrong side. I just now re-read it, and it was referring to the TH retaining pin - not the hammer pin. I messed up, and should have taken a look at one of my Carbines before marking up my book, and challenging Wayne. Thanks for helping me get "straightened out" on this! - Bob
