No 4(T) at 200 yards

As I said MPI is fine at that distance, tighten the group by using a decent support ...........ie you can't beat a sandbag, supporting your barrel

Took my 4T out to the range yesterday. Great shooting conditions, no wind and only a slight heat mirage. Managed to keep 14 rounds in the 10-ring at 200 yards. Group measured 4-1/4 by 5 inches, using handloads. Initially shot 6 rounds at 100 yards to confirm zero, then ran it out to 200.
1943 dated rifle, with a 1941 KL scope. Scope and mount are a mismatch, but still work well together.

That is pretty much what I can get with my No.4 and a scope. And the rifle is really in pristine conditions.
I wrote to the guys making the mount and they also told me that a 2MOA Enfield No.4 is absolutely ok.
I can beat that easily with my K31, with most Mausers and also with my No. 1 when I do my part. The No.4 can shoot well, but it behaves like a difficult girl. Full of temper and, every now and then, she pouts and I shoot crappily...
She likes to keep me hanging on there...on the line.

Today was my day off, so it was range day, regardless of heat. It was a muggy, humid 94 degrees F (34.5 C to the rest of the world). I was only at the range for about an hour, and only put 20 rounds downrange. Shot five shots at 100 yards to confirm zero, then 15 more at 200. The low shot in the 9 ring was the first round; added two clicks (4 inches) of elevation, and managed to keep the other 14 rounds in the 10. I'll be the first to admit, I probably should have waited a bit longer between shots. The last three rounds are the widest. I was trying to make the cease-fire. If I would slowed down, group might have been tighter. But by 0930, the sun was blazing, and everything was hot to the touch, shooting benches included! Still managed a 4-1/4 " X 3" group.

Rifle is a 1931 Trails No4 converted to T. Mis-matched HBMCo Mk 1 scope in a mis-matched mount. This rifle has a pretty rough barrel. Its dark with some pitting. Oddly enough, even with its rough barrel, it likes boat tail bullets

Handload was 174 gr Sierra HPBTM over 40.5 grains of Norma 203-B.
