    Many years ago I did some shooting with a friends Swedishicon Model 1921 BAR in 6,5x55 cal, really nice weapon to shoot and nice
    with the pistol grip.

    I understand some of these were converted to 30-06 years ago too

    I seem to remember that the Israelis converted a number of FN BARs to 7.62mm NATO. I do remember them attaching a new 7.62mm NATO magazine release/spacer in place of the .30-06 magazine release. The conversion used Israeli FN FAL metric magazines.
