I lived in CA my entire working career. Fair amount of time in San Joaquin County and the rest in a county next door. So happy to be now retired and living in a different state .
Earthquakes or Tornadoes? It’s a wash I suppose. A bad earthquake comes rarely albeit suddenly without warning (I remember Loma Prieta distinctly) with sometimes wide-spread damage. A tornado: likelihood more often but usually plenty of notice to hunker down with damage most often very localized. Pick your poison.
Bottom line is we left CA for a better quality of life, lower crime, lower taxes, friendlier neighbors, a great 2A environment and not having to smell the smoke from both nearby and distant wild fires most of every summer. Hold down the fort on the left coast without me . Not looking back.
