    qualified as an expert marksman with the M1icon Garand Rifle. He was accepted into Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Riley, based upon his college education. On January 28, 1943, he graduated from OCS and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army
    He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
