We wouldn't know half of what is now known about those old sporters and the folks who made them without Mr. Petrov's work. He is welcome to clutter up this board with his photography and knowledge anytime, and to whatever extent, in my illiterate opinion.

    G&H Mount

I have a couple of G&H two Lever mounts (left over parts from a custom Mauser my Uncle had back in the 1950s) but I have never seen a single lever G&H mount. I recently purchased an old 03 sporter with a Paul Jaeger single lever mount.

Was the G&H mount similar in design?

No a completely different design and the early Jaeger mounts are very confusing. There are about a half dozen early Jaeger mounts and I'm not sure I even have them all figured out.

Mike, please keep showing those greeat photos of beautiful sporterized 03's. They are just our lovable but somewhat homely rifles that have been dressed up for the dance!

Late to this thread also, just been terribly busy lately. As everyone else already said, Michael is free in my opinion to post any and everything he likes whenever he is moved to do so!
