I dont have her in front of me at the moment, but she's a Fazackerly and I believe shes a June 1945, but I'll have to double check once I get home this afternoon. Except for the serial number on the magazine, she's all matching.
As for a range report, hopefully either Saturday or Sunday I'll get her to the range.
Just a question though, is what I've read and been told about the "wandering" zero true?

My research indicates it may be a myth used to justify the move to semi auto battle rifles. I have not tested mine yet to verify but plan to do so now that deer season is over.

The war era examples seem to be worth more. Which if you are like me is nice but does not mean much. If I get desprite enough for food to sell my Number 5 , I will hunt it.

thats a good looking rifle, your stock seems lighter than mine, though it could be the flash from your camera

Very light wood on mine. Late 1946 ROF "F". I do not know the story on mine but is is not import marked and appears not to have been reworked. I wish I could find out what the previous owner was thinking when he drilled and tapped for a scope mount. Still debating on how to remedy that.

I saw in a Rifle magazine a few months back a few different ways of filling screw holes, just about all of them require re-finishing. I wouldnt know how to replicate the stoving on the rifle once it was removed. I dont envy you my friend.

I think it would have to be a No1 Mk3 with the original unit disc in the stock that belonged to the 1st bn worchestershire regt. 1916 or earlier....(Family reasons on that one !!)

I think my new Enfield grail is anything avaliable for purchase at a reasonable price. These things are facinating. The diversity of models ,configurations and markings seem endless. Plus the help offered by some very knowledgable folks here to help answer questions.

Well I wouldn't mind a No1 Mk3 with anti aircraft wings on the rear sight like some Arisaka
rifles. Saw one at the Pattern room at Leeds.
