Flying Pig: It's like trying to understand the stock market- good luck! Right now in Canadaicon there seems to be huge amounts of disposable income, combining with a very favorable long-gun ownership regulatory structure to create a big gun buying boom. Huge crowds at shows and expensive guns disappear from on-line sales sites almost as soon as they're posted. I see dudes who've never owned a gun looking hard at fake No.4 T's priced at $3500.00. As has happened before, a change in ruling political party could change all this fast and drop demand rapidly. Politics already plays a role as the presence of large numbers of cheap SVT 40's up here is probably mainly due to their being not importable into the USAicon right now. So trying to predict where it's all headed is hopeless- too many variables.

True enough and point well taken. I do hope you guys are right and prices drop, I've collected all the cheap rifles I like and most of the ones I still want are over $1,000 right now. I certainly don't want more anti gun legislation though!

Warpig: Good idea- I'll trade you 10 SVT's for a Dragunov. No, wait- I can own SVT's but not Dragunov's.

Original military rifles will always hold/increase in price. Reason being, present ones are out touch as they are full auto. So basically the last historic real, not a copy, military rifle you can buy were probably made in 1950's, Ray

Its always good to have the authenticity confirmed on your own 4T up for sale, as mine is currently with full CES, as it passed through Roger Payneicon's hands in the past. Happy days for the next owner.

Having been cared for by me and those before, its history of use is as good today as it was when it was delivered to its first user in 1945, and a good buy when you consider the ancillary prices of the CES and what they are going for on Fleabay, soon mounts up. I know I'm the seller and doing a bit of self promotion, but it is fantastic if you are looking for a very effective piece of history which will only go up in price, and one day overtake L42 prices too, and redeem their rightful place in the pecking order

Prices of historical firearms will never come down as long as it stays legal to collect and own them. I've been in the trade in one aspect or another in the USAicon since 1979 and I've never seen it. Of course, condition is everything and rarity also a huge factor.

know here in the states , the prices of mil-surps has shot through the roof , down again , now going back up ,with every day that passes seems they just seem to grow in popularity as a lot of people are getting fear of even owning a semi auto anything and they may have it taken away,And with obamas croonies screaming gun control at every chance , they just continue to go up in value , with the non reimportation of lend lease m1 garands and m1 carbines now in effect they are flying out the doors of gun snows at staggering prices, i just see every rifle going up in value , buy now i say , i see the price just going up on many more than down anytime in future.
