For what I know every Bren comes with the chest and inside the chest for each gun there is a second spare barrel. It even has a locking mechanism on the inside for this barrel.

Also for what I know some are to go to the UK - I assume either for being deactivated in the UK, or already deactivated to the UK. Might be a Brexit thing as well that this takes time. So I guess you can get your hands upon one of these anyway. But I'll do my best for you regarding the pictures of the chest when I find time. May I ask why the chest difference is so important to you? It somehow amazes me that in a gun forum discussing a MG the chest the gun comes in attracts your attention more than the gun itself

Had been asked the same by a friend who is a gunsmith, so did some quick pictures .. find them attached. Rifle serial is painted on the chest, I made a black box above it, in case someone was wondering..
PS: I assume the compartment is for the magazine since it fits quite well, but I don't know for sure (see last pic with mag inserted). Also, note the part opposite the magazine is folding, it locks the Bren in place when it is inside the chest.

Glad to see these have eventually surfaced out of storage.
Last time I saw these there were over a thousand stacked up in there chests.
Not sure if they were ever issued to the State police but ammo was still being made into 1969.

Sorry, this was not intended offensive. It just an observation of mine that I had considered somewhat funny. It would be appreciated if you could point out the differences in the chest that you have observed.

Blocks attached internally to all 4 corners, various internal fittings removed, different mag holder, a tool/parts box on the far left and an additional fitting opposite the mag holder. Externally there looks to be 2x wood strengthening bands enveloping the chest.

What country was that in again?
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.
