A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I want a Mk V Trials Rifle...

... but I would settle for a really nice looking Lee Metford with a beautifully sharp rifled bore.

I had a Lithgowicon No.1 MkIII in near new condition back in the 60's and let it go when money was needed. I would very much like to find another one but have been spoiled with the memory of the one that got away. Those that I see now being offered look like they have been drug down the road.

I've had a pretty lucky run. When I went looking for my first trainer, I scored an all original matching Patt14No1 .22 trainer for less than the going price of a No2 MkIV. Then a Lithgowicon No1 MkIII* HT 1/1. I thought my luck was all used up when a No6 was offered to me at a price I could afford on the day.

I suppose I should be on the lookout for a No4 Mk1 (I don't own any) of Britishicon origins, but I think a No4T would be nice.

Just added a pic of my Lithgows (except the Highmount HT)

My holy grail would be a smle III or III* in good condition, good enough to shoot regularly at the range, then it will be my favourite gun because it will be my first. I like the look better than the later guns.

    Nice group shot there son.
I haven’t seen a Slazenger .22 Hornet before. Are they common in Australiaicon?
How about a few details on the one at the top with the bipod?

I'd love to have a Mk I SMLE in as issued condition. Since I'm dreaming, unit marked to the Scots Guards!

i think at this time , and at this point of my accumulation id like to find a no1 mkVI , im fortunate in haveing most of the others id wanted , but ill have to build another cabinet to create the slot ,

but then id like to get an early transitional no4 mkI , and as long im dreaming and creating new space i guess a nice no4 mk1/2 & mk1/3 would be fun too , but them ive gotta enlarge this cabinet as well
