I went to a meeting about that play between the upper and lower TMH on the L85's Skippy.......... You get up and say your piece to these shooting team managers, as respectfully as you can (as they're all old long serving Majors who carried a lot of clout!!!!!), and they STILL don't really understand that even if the TMH was almost falling off it wouldn't affect the accuracy! What they really meant was that the shooting team MANAGERS wanted a solid as a rock feeling of firmness in the rifle so that the shooters couldn't use the looseness as a poor excuse for crap shooting!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). 33CW is 33 Central Workshops at Newark in Nottinghamshire. That's why I couldn't relate 33 COMMAND workshop to anything! It was a largeish workshop principally for the big vehicle depot at nearby Ruddington. No small arms facility there (nor at the other close by optronics/electronics workshop at Old Dalby) but the workshop facility most probably made the plates subject to this thread. And the punch was the standard PUNCH, flat.

Just goes to show that however long you've been at it, there's always something that you didn't know before. Thanks all concerned and S/Sgt Geordie XXXX for this bit of input, we can all pad out our knowlege base a bit more
