This is going to be difficult to explain to the ball and chain. If I quit posting you'll all know she killed me.

My first L42a1- still have it, didn't mean to imply it went anywhere (photos from August 2009):

So far, the A/N PVS-1 is as close to a Britishicon IWS that I've been able to muster.

Still shoots well after all these years, but it's NOT forgiving of indifferent shooting technique! Unlike some other rifles, you really have to concentrate on what you are doing.

Added a pic to the very first post- didn't quite expect so many fast responses!

    Thanks, all.

If there's more, drag 'em out!

I know of another that I had for a while that is back in a friend's hands, but no known pics of it- so far.

Feeling semi-alive after hitting the sack for eleven hours Saturday afternoon.

Well, it's bumping my own thread, but there's a new thread w/ some good photos that ought to be included, so here's another link:

Adding a link to RobD's thread. It's an interesting specimen that's worthy of study, pay particular attention to the odd S/N and the following posts discussing how it came to be:

    L42A1 with unusual fore end?

Lots of photos in post #1 of RobD's thread!

ETA: All of the links known to me are listed together at the beginning of this thread.
If there's more, please post 'em!

    My L42A1

I have been acquiring all the bits and pieces over the last couple of years with help from some great people in Englandicon and in Germanyicon. Was able to get the IWS from England about a year ago. The IWS mount is a repro with original thumbscrews. Brian Dickicon was kind enough to completely check out the rifle when I found it at a show in Reno. Nothing like having an expert give a first hand look prior to purchasing. Anyway, it is probably my favorite Enfield sniper. It is neck and neck with my Trials "T". As always, any comments and input are appreciated. Brian

Some L42a1 scope turret photos in this thread:

    L42a1

See Posts #4 and #10 (#4 has no "M" and #10 shows the "M" on the turret.)

This thread also details the variance in clicks from "0-10" for the No.32 versus the L1A1 scope.
