I generally do not care for Krags being broken down and sold for parts (and notice some individuals do this on a regular basis on 'Ebad' and 'Gunbraker'). However, this Kragicon is a good candidate for 'Organ Donor'.

I guess none of this should surprise me. I also watched a krag action with full length barrel, bolt, and trigger go for 330 on eBay. The only thing missing to make it complete was front sight blade, rear sight, stock and stock hardware. (I dont think it was even legal to sell in the first place: U s 1898 Springfield Krag Rifle 30 40 Bolt Barrel Trigger Original Parts | eBay )

Why would that not be legal?

I'm guessing because it's an interstate sale of a 'modern' firearm (post 1898) and has to go through a licensed dealer. (Also, as an aside, it violates Ebay policy).

But is it considered a firearm? They probably looked at it very closely and just slid past the definition, or it wouldn't have remained there.

The S/N puts its production in 1903, it also could be fired in its current state.

In the U.S., the post 1898 receiver is treated like a firearm (BATF rules, not Ebay's, is what is important).

As far as the site it was sold on, wasn't it on gun broker and not ebay and I believe the listing said it has to go to a licensed dealer.
