"Englandicon" is widely used by Americans to refer to the whole of the UK which people in the UK often think is inaccurate. As I understand it the American usage of the term "England" is correct to refer to the whole of the UK but not many people in the UK still use the term in this way.

Yes, the Fairbairn Sykes is one exception. They actually were imported as a purchase. Bayonets and knives brought back have no import markings.

I don't think that anyone has suggested that "bring backs" would have the marking.

    Kandahar kit shop kukri

My legitimate Kukri story is one of my AFG trophies. The Gurhka Rifles were the Reserve battalion in Regional Command South in late 07 when I arrived in Kandahar. My part of the mission supported many of their ops, and I got to know one Int Cpl well enough. So as they were being replaced by the Paras, I asked if I could buy a kukri from their kit shop. It was maybe US$40. It is in my locker.

Jump ahead to 2024, and my military boss (I'm a contractor now) is Nepalese. He was taking the family to meet the relatives. I asked if he could commission a pair of full tang kukris from one particular shop. What I received is a close cousin to the Britishicon Gurkha kitshop kukri. I gave a good friend the second identical knife. One is full tang, and the other is rat-tail tang. Otherwise the shape of the grip panels are similar.

Unscientifically, the nut on the handle looks suspicious. IMHO, it should be a fitting that holds the handle to the tang that can be tightened. There will be artistic licence for the tang and how the grip is fitted. I would consider the other parts and scabbard for how well they are made as indicators of a wall hanger vs a working, chopping, cutting tool.
