About the 7.7 Arisaka: I had a friend, now dead, who told me he had a 7.7 Arisaka shortly after WWII and that .300 Savage fit right in and worked fine. He then reloaded the fire-formed cases. No way to check or verify this. You will have to research. I know .300 Savage is not inexpensive either.

Many 7.7 Arisaka's were modified to .300 Sav. by setting the barrel back and re-chambering to the shorter .300 Sav. which is too short to fire in an un-modified rifle. Now that 7.7 brass is redily available it makes no sense to re-chamber a 7.7 Arisaka.

Both pulled bullets and new bullets for reloading measure .311, not .308.

Before anyone asks, bullets for the Pedersen device measure .308, as do bullets for the French 7.65 pistol round, which is the same case.
