I've re looked at the photos and I see what Kev and Sten collector were on about now. It never crossed my mind that even the slides would have been cut up. The lower is a bodge of a Inglis or Enfield Mk1m lower and a earlier style mk1. There is one little give away I've highlighted in blue in this photo and kevs.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. All the lowers from this source were cut in half just behind the pistol grip. 99% of the lowers from this source were Canadianicon. The uppers were all cut across the front portion of the gun, just back of the piston cylinder. All the uppers from this source were Cdn. The army also cut one side of the piston group, and torch nipped the barrels in two spots (the breech and just behind the gas port). As well, they took the time to hammer, axe, or torch cut all the magazines.

In the end, it really fell onto the person who re-assembled the guns to know what was right. Many did not care.

B.P. the raised block behind the selector lever that the sear pin goes through is also longer on Lithgowicon Brens with a MKI sliding butt group (marked in my pic with a red line to indicate)

Thanks for clearing up the cutting up proccess stencollector.

Sorry for the late reply, yes this bren had been torch cut in several places, one being the rear end. I had to be carefull cleaning up those welds as not much was holding the gun together. The areas you show in the trigger group are original and it is not torch cut there. I had to machine down some of it due to sloppy welds that had been dripped onto the area but as mentioned that area was untouched.
