I think so too Chris. It would be neat to do one up in .22 though. You could use it in your garage in the winter time with CB caps...full gun drills...few beers, few laughs.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. They had them made up with 1903 actions ( 30-06 ) and some with 1922 ( or M1icon / M2 ) actions ( .22 LR ) . Being outdoors , I'd guess 30-06 , but either would be nice to own along with the door knocker , of course.

What's that Chris? A small blank charge with a hardball for a projectile?

OK, enough of this modern stuff with restricted geography. Let's widen the net and see if anyone can identify this - which is older than all the stuff posted up to now!

Older than that! And not a conversion. But you are right - it is Frenchicon.

And it is in .22 short!

    Try again. More clues tomorrow!
