This image was in the same album, as that of the warship, which I take to be Clacton On Sea life boat when the life boat station was located in the town and not on the end of the pier as it is today. The original life boat station still exists, or did the last time that I visited, and is now a pub/restaurant.

Does this photo look to be taken in the 1920's?

Certainly looks early/mid 20's......the cars look 1915-1925 period, plus war ribbons on the copper's uniform could indicate WW1 service.
The lifeboat is the one prior to the new one that went into service in 1929 when the boat house was re-located, so has to be before 1929.
So, could be 1926-1928 era which would fit with the Iron Duke Class - as they all returned to Home Fleet in 1926 for next couple of years prior to being taken out of service in 1929.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

Your best bet there might be the police bobby at the far left. Check his uniform against the time period.

Those aren't flying off platforms, they are sun shades to keep the deck cooler.

Well, it‘s not the Grand Harbor, Malta. Been there a year ago, toured round it, photographed it. And there are masses of photos available on line.

Does anyone know the Alexandria anchorage?
