22 hours after vaccine and no adverse symptoms. Feeling a little sleepy at the moment but I think that's just me getting home after a day of work.

All the teachers and support staff in the state of Pennsylvania who want a vaccine will have it by the end of the day on Sunday.

What that doesn't tell us is how many refused to get it. I'm guessing based on people talking that it is between 30-50% in our local district. That's a higher percentage than I would have thought. Our district is a semi-rural conservative one that has held classes all year without major issues. I suspect in urban, liberal districts the percentage will be a lot lower. These districts haven't ever started classes yet and they were demanding the vaccine before they started up.

    Steve,
Good to hear everything is fine in your household after a long year and your antibodies are working for you both.
Not sure why the scare mongering in respect of Astra Zeneca, but I suspect it will transpire, a bit of Government jealousy going on and probably share related, who knows and who cares, as long as it gets out there to help "everybody to survive" regardless of your country and thats what Her Majesties Government have done, they have sent millions of Britishicon Tax payers paid vaccines to many African States and so they should..............we can't now disown them after hundreds of years of Colonialism!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay Safe and take whatever is offered, they have all been rigoursly tested is my advice!!

Had my Jab on Monday, (Oxford astra Zeneca) i was told I'll probably feel the side effects more as I've had Covid, well come Tuesday afternoon I was on my arse, totally floored me, just flue like symptoms hot/cold, aches all over and hurts when moving the eyes........ bit of Deja Vu from September, all gone by following evening.

Having had food poisoning for over two weeks now probably made feel a lot worse too, as soon as I eat within 4-6 hours I'm on the pot nearly every hour....... Dr finally agreed to look into getting me something today as its close to 3 weeks, only good thing is the weight loss which was needed but wasn't planning on this type of diet. 12kg lost.......

Having had Covid last year and suffering ill health long after, I'd advise anyone not to hesitate and get the jab, like Gil says listen to the science and not bitter EU politicians, very happy to get mine, one of the news readers on Sky news commentated on the day she had hers, she was overwhelmed with emotion and had a tears in her eyes not just because there was light at the end of the tunnel but said it was all down to the quick and very efficient process the way it was done, have to agree with her, our vaccination roll out is a remarkable feat, good job I put my X in the right box in June 2016......

    Geoff,
So sad to see so much bickering in Europe over this whole debarcle of Astra Zeneca, Oxford didn't approve it, it was approved by an independent world renowned tested centre and backed by the European Medicne test centre and the WHO.....................we are not being told everything..............so easy to blame somebody, damage done!!
There is something going on at levels higher than our pay grade...............so pointless and will cost so many lives.

I understand from a good English friend stuck in Holland thousands of AZ vaccines have been wasted whilst they arguedover falsely made statements!!!! Disgraceful IMHO

I just “escaped” from home and made a long walk in the fields.
Technically a criminal, practically a human being asserting his right to live free. Without putting anyone at risk.
No one around, frigging cold, wonderful starlit sky...
I just keep away from people, and doing so, I’m sure I’m not hurting anyone.

    Ovidio,
Perhaps you could help someone on another thread to locate his fathers military record he served in Italy in WW2 as a sniper and he simply wanted to know what rifle he would have issued at the time. It is Gelivi on the thread Italianicon Rifles - WW1 sniper rifle

I booked my first jab for tomorrow morning and my second in two months.

Here in the UKicon they are planning everyone over 50 (but the tin foil hat wearing deniers) will be vaccinated by the end of April.

Entire Adult population vaccinated by July.

The amazing thing is that most hospitals have gone from a hundred plus Covid patients to two or three in the last month.

It's a hugely impressive national effort, I just can't understand why the EU has been so lacking in getting underway, thank god we left!

Yes, considering the UKicon has made an absolute mess of the track n trace system, the vaccine process has been a hugely impressive effort, and certainly was very well organised from experience yesterday. Only issue seems to be having to travel distance to get an appointment. When I got my letter 2 weeks ago, I immediately logged on, to book and despite there being a vaccine centre at the end of my road and 5 mins walk away, it didn't even appear on the list of available centres for me to book an appointment!!
To be able to get a booking within 2 weeks I had to make an appointment at a centre 30 miles away...(cooincidently based in an office building where I used to work until just before Christmas!!)
Other than that, I have to applaud the UK's vaccine program.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

Same here, there's a vaccination center 10 miles from me, but, as the programme has progressed, it's specialised as a Senior Citizens and vulnerable centre, I have to go 25 miles to a local racecourse.

I believe there's some seriously intelligence led mathematical modelling going into the roll out, so we just need to be thankful dumb sheep and show up when and where indicated!

I booked mine via the online portal and it's amazing how it works, the dates and time slots change by the second, as people book and cancel, then rebook.

How it works without crashing is beyond my pay grade to understand ... Like I said, sheep mode, do as I'm told and be very grateful!

Yes, that what I think is the case here, as I was talking over the garden fence with my OAP next door neighbour this morning, and she had hers at the local centre, as she ticked a couple of the boxes on the booking system, whereas I couldn't tick any, so as you say, you have to travel further away.
It was no big deal for me.
And as you say, happy to be in sheep mode and be grateful, even though the bloody thing floored me over night and I had a rough night, but much better by late morning today.
