    Greetings from Central Florida

This is my first post to say hello and I wanted to express my thanks to all you for the wonderful source of information on military rifles. I recently picked up a .303 MK#5 Jungle Carbine and I am excited about find out more about these weapons. I had a .303 sporterized version 20 years ago and traded it for something.. can't remember. Well have a great evening and thanks again for all the work that you all have put on this message board and website. C-ya, KS

Hi, I'm a new member. Not a proper collector, more of an enthusiast, I have some items, especially since my city was strongly connected with the military. We still have 8 post-Austro-Hungarian forts (or in some cases remainings) and some nice equipment can still be found there.

    Thumbs up New member

I already posted, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway.
My name is Martin and I live in the Netherlands.
My main field of interest are the Mosin Nagant rifles and carbines.
Next to this I like to take My Dutch Steyr Mannlicher, Dutch Beaumont and Swissicon Vetterli to the range.
I love to reload and like to exchange whatever knowledge I have on the subject.

    Met vriendelijke groet,

    Martin

    Newest guy . . .

Hi guys (and gals I presume),

I'm new here and also new to milsurps. I'm tired of all the flashy tricked-out ARs and am down to only one now. I kept my DPMS .223/5.56 but don't even know why. I guess because it shoots so derned well even for a plinker round.

My new dream rifle would be a K31icon in 6.5x55, but I guess that would take a lot of modding. So I guess the only thing I can do is get both a swede & a swiss and see which I like best. It's not that I'd have a problem with the 7.5 - I've shot 30-06, .308 & 12 ga. mags all my life, and more recently 260. But I've just recently discovered the 6.5x55 and that led to discovering also the K31. I'm enamoured with both of them. I like all the cool things I've read about the 6.5x55 round, and I just love the design of the K31 especially the bolt.

One of my searches for a K31 led me here to the classified section but I can't ask the guy a question until I intro myself. I'm not doing it just to maybe buy the rifle, I plan to camp out here and do a cram course on these two sweet specimens and ask some questions. I probably won't limit my new addiction to just these two platforms as I imagine there's all sorts of cool milsurps I don't even know exists yet.

My name is Kevin and I live in north Texas, out in the sticks about halfway between Paris and Sherman. I run a sawmill and also manufacture & sell a woodworking jig. I hunt deer & duck & anything else we want to put in the deep freeze. Occasionally I'll take a hog with my G20 using Buffalo Bore and a couple other rounds I've experimented with. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't take large hog with 10mm that's just phooey. A well-placed shot will drop them in their tracks and he who can't place shots well doesn't have any business going face to face with a big mean hog anyway.

When I take anything from the woods, even a hog, I don't celebrate the kill or get all excited whooping & hollering like a bunch of the idiots you see on Youtube. They give no respect at all to the animal they just sacrificed to feed their families. They act like a bunch of heathens and I would be caught dead hunting with those types of mentality. I don't worship animals but they deserve to be treated honorably and taken with the least amount of suffering as possible.

I used to reload 12 ga but when the fireants killed all the quail I stopped shooting so much and so don't even reload that. I have never reloaded cartridges but I am going to get into that too. Mainly the 6.5x55 since it's so versatile, and probably also for my 10mm since it also can be down or uploaded to such extremes.

I guess I should add I spent 4 years in USCG aviation as an Avionicsman; I was one of the very first to qualifiy as SAR aircrewman on the HU-25A Falcon fixed wing. My favorite flying time was in the HH-3F Pelican fling winger on whcih I was also q'fied. I would have gotten all my flight time in that rust bucket and never stepped foot in a fixed wing if I could have gotten away with it. Alright enough already I got carried away I can type really fast unfortunately. Like shooting, I never had any formal typing even in HS but I can aim a lot better with my firesticks than I can with the fingers, but pretty fast on the draw with both.

    Hello

I like to say what a wonderful site. I have a few milsurp rifles. I so enjoy the history of these guns. My father use to tell "son this is history you can use, just like these silver coins". Thanks for all the hard work and dedication to this important repository of history.

Hi , my name is Jeff Vanaman I collect British arms for the last 45 years. I had what I thought was a Brit trials carbine. Could never find much info on it. Recently found out it was manufactured in Englandicon but was a US trials rifle. There were about 200 rifles and 20 carbines produced. The carbines were serial # from 240 to about 260. I have carbine 240. If anyone has an interest you can contact me at j-vanaman@comcast.net. Thanks for your attention. Jeff

    Lightbulb Copair

    Greetings all,

I reside in the Midlands of Englandicon. I am ex-military but well retired now. I have been shooting for more years than I care to remember with shotguns, small arms and full bore rifles. I own, amongst other things, a No 4 Mk 1* longbranch rifle, regulated by Fulton, converted to 308 and is an Enfield "Enforcer" look-a-like! It was fitted with a PH 5C rear-sight and a PH FS22a tunnel foresight but with old eyes I have reverted to a scope. A nice rifle and has pleased me with many a "V" bull.
    Copair.
