New to the Forum
Hi all, I'm a new member. I found you while researching some WW1 era mills packs. I collect all manner of military stuff, swords, medals, badges and do some shooting. I look forward to posting some of my collection and helping answer some questions while asking a ton of my own.

Accidental Collector
Hello All, from the beautiful Florida left coast. I really haven't collected on purpose but I do have a Type 38 Arisaka
6.5 Jap Rifle that I was given when I was about 14 or so. I believe I was told it was brought back from the Pacific by a great uncle but I can't verify that because anyone who would have known by now is dead. I use to hunt deer with it when I was younger but I haven't shot it in a while. I was also recently given a nice barrel and receiver of a US Model of 1917 Remington. Everything is intact and I'd really like to get a stock and the parts to make this a shooter again. Seems it was refit in WWII with a new barrel as it has an HS stamped under the front sight mount. I was told this means High Standard and is supposed to be particularly accurate. Thanks for a great forum. I really look forward to looking through the posts

Hi folks I am just stopping through to get help on verifing a scope I recieved from a family member. It has numbers all over the scope the main ones I reconize are( TEL STG. No32 MK.III ) under that is (O.S. 2039 A) and under that is ( AK&S No 22595 ) AND UNDER THAT .......1945.
The scope is in a metal box that the scope mount screws into. the box says (CASE,STG.TEL No8 MARK.l B.E LTD 1941. INSIDE IS A LABEL UNDER THE LID HAND WRITEN ON HOW TO ADJUST THE POSTION OF THE GRADUATED SCALE RINGS ON L1a1 teles.
The scope has a leather strap with 2 leather caps to cover the opticals.
Any idea what the value would be. It weighs a ton and the optics are crisp.

Greetings.
I have no weapon collection (yet), but I do some historic research on firearms. This is an excellent website and I look forward to learning more from it.
Thank you.

Lurker turns poster-
Evening gents, glad to be a member and seeker of milsurp truth, especially as regards Garands, Carbines and big ol' pre-war Colt and Smith service revolvers.
As a matter of fact, I like it all--who am I kidding?
