A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Hi, I'm from Denmarkicon and have been here for about a month or so. I found this great site when looking for information regarding my US M1917 rifle.
Besides my M1917 (Eddystone) I also have a Swissicon K-31 and a Norwegianicon Mauser K98kicon in 30-06, all of which I use regulary.

    Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm new to collecting - I've just got an MN 91/30 for a start. Not interested in making money, just the history. I've got a dumb noobie question - How far can you go to clean up a historical piece before you ruin it? Will attemping to clean up a dirty barrel ruin the piece? How about electrical derusting? Thanks in advance for sharing your experience.

    Marsto

    New member

I am a new member, though I have owned a 1918 no1 mk3* that a friend gave me about 20 years a go. I am a nurse and have made friends with a gentlemen patient who was a sniper in Okinawa in WWII. Listening to his stories got me thinking about "That old rifle my friend gave me." Dug it out of mothballs (not literally) and started researching on the internet. I have learned a lot in the past month. Thanks to everyone who shares knowledge on here.
