It was always good to chat with Terry at HBSA Wessex branch meetings, he would often look after the HBSA table at historic arms meetings at Bisley where his knowledge was a joy to behold.

Shocked & so very sad to hear it. I have very fond memories from more years ago than I care to remember of Terry & I meeting up to do a deal on a car park at Bisley!
The forum has lost one of its elder statesmen. RIP old pal.

    R.I.P. - Clive M. Law, MStJ, FCMH 1954 - 2017

It it with deep sadness I have to announce the death of a valued forum member and highly respected author.

Clive died in Ottawa on Saturday, June 10th, 2017, as the result of a stroke which occurred a week earlier ..... far too young at the age of 63.

Clive was President and sole employee of Service Publications of Ottawa, Canadaicon, as well as being a valued contributor to many Knowledge Libraryicon articles and supporter of our site.

His main interest was the Canadian Army in both World Wars, including the uniforms and insignia, the vehicles - both tracked and wheeled - manufactured in Canada, and especially the small arms, optics and other technical equipment. At times he reenacted as a WWII Canadian War Correspondent.

He wrote many books on these subjects and far more details of his life may be found in the Clive M. Law (Click Here)

On behalf of entire membership, we’d like to express our deepest sympathies to Clive’s family, friends and colleagues

Update: For those that are able to attend, the funeral has been confirmed for Saturday June 17th at the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood in Ottawa (280 Beechwood Ave, Vanier ON K1L 8A6). Visitation will take place from 0900-1000hrs followed by the service at 1000hrs and interment of the ashes immediately following.

Sad news. Clive's death is a big loss to the military collector's community. I, and I'm sure many here, have several of his publications on our bookshelves. He was clearly passionate about military history - especially Canadianicon military history.

I too am saddened to hear of this. Although we only chatted or discussed a few times, he felt like we'd been friends for years. Condolences Peter L, I know you were grand mates...
