    Would want to make sure his is not a Dulite (blued) finish, which I think it wouldn't be.
    BQ or Newscotlander would know.

    This site shows the Williams Gun Sight that is on your carbine.
    They are located in Davison, MI.
    About a 1 hour drive for me.
    If you read it closely,
    You'll see that that sight doesn't need the dovetails to be grinded down.

    The receiver and barrel might have been Parkerized at different times and places depending on barrel manufacture. The barrels were Park'd with the band and front sight on and then mated to a receiver.
    At rebuild time, the barrel and receiver were Parkerized together then the band and sight were installed, usually new parts. In this case the barrel and receiver might be more gray with the Type 3 band and new sight darker to near-black. Later Type 3 bands were zinc phosphated and were grey.

    That is definitely the rear sight on my Inland. It's been 10 years since I've seen the front sight, but I seem to remember the center blade, with the wings for protection.
