Howdy, I am obviously new to this site, but not new to guns and collecting. I have seen numerous posts here regarding Lee Enfield Rifles
, and figured I should join up to learn even more.

Newbe from Austin, Texas
I have recently acquired a No 1 Mk III along with BSA No 9 sight, BSA 9c, Central claw foot and a PH 5A, all to play with.Working on sighting it in, first with the issue sights @ 25 yds as instructed in Stephen Redgwell's "The Accurate Lee Enfield." I will then move on to the the aperture sights. The old rifle intrigues me, all those flat springs and levers, the bedding issues and the vast array of sights made during the teens, twenties and into the 70's. The rifle is a very mixed bag. Enfield Mk III 1916, very good bore, matching numbers on the receiver, barrel, nose cap and sight. No magazine cut off. No volley sight, stock not relieved for front volley sight, bolt mismatched but headspace is good. Marked on the top of the knox form for service with Austria
. The wood is all mismatched. Sort of a yellowish front hand guard with the legs cut off, rear hand guard a dark reddish brown with the legs cut off. It is a project and fun.

Hello everyone,
Finally found my way over here after an absence from M1
Carbine and other service rifle collecting and shooting forums. I see some familiar names from the old BR forum. I hope I can make some positive contributions , but my photography sometimes isnt perfect. Neither is my spelling despite spell check. Picked up a couple more carbines last several weeks so the documentation and research starts all over again, maybe at a slower pace cause I need some memory jogging also. All pictures I post are from my collection. Pics will be coming.

New Texan
I've been collecting and shooting milsurp rifles and handguns for awhile now. I grew up around gun shops and still get taken back to my dads shop every time I smell cosmoline
. It was my and my brothers job to clean all the cosmoline off the cased 1903 springfields, mauser 98's and everything else that came into the shop. Good to be here!
