    Hello

New member, long association with mil surp but more interested in the history and engineering than the rifles themselves.

Looks to be a site packed with information. Thanks for all the research and time put in to supply quality information to the seeker.

I'm not much of a joiner for anything so this is a big leap. Anyway, I bought my first .22 (Couey 600 )way back in 1966, ( I was 11) from a school friend for $25.00 , paper route money. I' ve been hooked on guns ever since, remember mausers in the barrel at Crown surplus, Calgary. Anyway, I'm a bit of a tinkerer
for most things involving human technology, believe we will see TEOTWAWKI before the end of my lifetime. Have studied Forestry, Ethnobotany, wilderness survival, wilderness medicine bla bla bla. I am quite a Hermit, yet would like to talk to the bigger world to clear up some of my insular misconceptions which I have developed through my long standing self imposed exile from humanity.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Doug
